Spray Tan Preparation

How to prepare for a flawless, streak-free glow.

✨ The Prep Timeline

24 Hours Before / Your Prep Everything Shower This is when you do all the heavy lifting! Take your official Everything Shower to get your skin canvas perfectly prepped.

✔️ Wash your hair if needed (you won't have a chance to for another 2 days!)
✔️ Shave lightly with a sharp, fresh razor
✔️ Complete any waxing, manicures, or pedicures
✔️ Exfoliate your face and body completely to remove dead skin cells

Do NOT wait to shave or wax the day of your appointment—your pores need time to close!
The Day of Your Appointment / Blank Canvas When you walk into the studio, your skin needs to be completely bare so the solution can absorb evenly.

❌ No lotions, oils, face creams or retinol
❌ No deodorant or perfumes
❌ No makeup or heavy face serums

Please wear dark, loose baggy clothing and flip-flops to slide into right after your session. Loose sweatpants and a baggy tee are perfect!

What to Avoid Before You Arrive

Just like post-tan care, pre-tan prep comes down to a few basic principles. To prevent patches or light development, avoid these items 24 hours before your session:

No Dove Products: Do not use Dove body wash or Dove bars for your prep shower. It leaves a heavy film on your skin that acts like a raincoat, completely blocking the spray tan from absorbing.
No Heavy Body Oils: Avoid body scrubs made with heavy oils (like salt or sugar scrubs floating in oil) and skip thick body butters the night before your tan.
No Razors with Moisture Strips: Try to avoid brand-new razors that have thick, slimy moisturizing gel strips on the head for your prep shower, as that gel can deposit an uneven barrier on your legs.
